How to Plan an Event in Longview: A Simple 6-Step Checklist

The Coop Journal · 5 min read

Whether it's a bridal shower, a milestone birthday, a company training, or a watch party for the big game, planning an event can feel like a lot. It doesn't have to be. Here's the no-stress checklist we walk Longview hosts through — six steps from "let's do this" to "that was perfect."

1

Nail down your headcount

Almost every other decision flows from this number. A rough guest count tells you the space you need, the layout, and the budget range. The Coop holds up to 150 guests across indoor and outdoor space, so you've got room to round up.

2

Pick two or three possible dates

Weekends book up fastest, especially in peak season. Having a couple of backup dates makes it far easier to lock something in quickly when you call to check availability.

3

Set a realistic budget

Start with the venue, then layer in food, decor, and any extras. Use The Coop's Event Price Estimator to get an instant ballpark based on day of week, hours, guest count, and whether you add the outdoor area.

4

Lock the date with a deposit

A date isn't yours until it's reserved. At The Coop, a 50% reservation deposit holds your date and applies to your rental, plus a $300 refundable damage/cleaning deposit. Rescheduling is free with 14+ days notice.

5

Plan the details

Tables, chairs, AV, wireless mics, WiFi, and kitchen access are included, and setup & teardown are handled — so your list is mostly the fun stuff: food, decor, music, and a timeline for the day.

6

Confirm and enjoy

Your final balance is due 7 days before the event. After that, all that's left is to show up and host. We'll have the space ready.

Good to know: the covered outdoor kitchen & patio is available as an add-on — and it's included free for events over 100 guests. Nonprofits and military receive 10% off.
